This forest green shaker kitchen showcases thoughtful design, natural materials, and clever storage, creating the true heart of the home
At Urban Myth, we design kitchens that balance timeless style with modern functionality. This project is a perfect example of how thoughtful design, natural materials, and carefully considered storage can transform a space into the true heart of the home.
The kitchen features modern shaker cabinetry in a rich forest green, creating a strong visual presence while maintaining a calm, sophisticated atmosphere. The colour works beautifully against the warm timber flooring and soft neutral walls, allowing the kitchen to feel both grounded and welcoming.
At the centre of the room, we designed a generous island that serves as the main preparation area as well as a social hub for the household. With comfortable seating incorporated into the design, the island provides a relaxed space for family breakfasts, informal dining, or entertaining guests. Practical additions such as integrated wine storage and a wine cooler make the island as functional as it is stylish.
The work surfaces and backsplash are finished in matt porcelain in Evora, creating a seamless and elegant focal point around the sink area. The subtle veining within the porcelain introduces visual texture while maintaining a clean and refined aesthetic. As well as being visually striking, porcelain offers excellent durability, making it ideal for busy family kitchens.
To the right of the main kitchen run, we designed a dedicated tall cabinet area that enhances both storage and appliance integration. A double-door larder cabinet with a beautifully crafted oak interior provides generous pantry storage, allowing ingredients and kitchen essentials to be neatly organised and easily accessible.
Alongside this, a freestanding fridge freezer from Fisher & Paykel is neatly housed within the same forest green cabinetry, ensuring it integrates seamlessly with the overall design while maintaining the performance and scale of a freestanding appliance.
Open shelving positioned either side of the sink wall keeps the space feeling light and relaxed, offering practical storage for glassware and ceramics while adding personality to the room.
Flooded with natural light from the large windows, the kitchen feels bright and airy despite the depth of colour used in the cabinetry. The result is a space that is elegant yet practical, designed to support everyday living while offering a refined and timeless aesthetic.
