The Red Door - A lasting tribute to an iconic fragrance empire
The entrance to one of the latest developments from Telford Homes at The Perfume Factory features a red door inspired arch paying homage to Elizabeth Arden's empire that once occupied this space.
The redevelopment of the site will consider three residential buildings between 12 and 25 storeys in height providing 376 residential units.
Urban Myth have been engaged to design, manufacture and install all of the kitchens which will be finished in either a contemporary "Blue Denim", "Cashmere Grey" or "Indigo Blue" from our own Urban Life range.
Wallis Gilbert & Partners, a British architectural firm renowned for its contributions to Art Deco buildings in London and the UK, crafted the initial design for the Perfume Factory in 1939.
Elizabeth Arden, a successful cosmetician who established her business in New York, expanded her operations to the UK by establishing her presence at the Perfume Factory site, which is now recognized as a locally listed building.
In the comprehensive landscape design, a distinctive red arch positioned at the entrance of the site has been meticulously planned as a deliberate homage to Elizabeth Arden's renowned and iconic fragrance, the 'Red Door.'
This carefully crafted element not only serves as a visual focal point but also encapsulates the essence and legacy of Arden's influential contribution to the world of perfumery, adding a touch of elegance and symbolism to the overall aesthetic of the surroundings.
